What will you do if you found out that you are a robot?

Getting a que from Helen I asked several of my Summer Robotics class "What will they do if they found out that they are robots?" Here are their quick replies: "If I found out that I'm a robot, I will just tell some members of my family whom I trust most to keep it a secret. I will help them if I had more abilities like teach them how to play the guitar." Audrey Sarai P. Manabat, 12 years old " I will be proud as a robot, because I was built for a cause, instead of becoming lazy, I will serve… Continue

Content vs Stuff that actually matters

Is it important to know stuff? Of course it is but how does knowing stuff help when looking through thousands of lines of computer code because a program crashes without any error messages? How can knowing stuff help you manage a financial crisis at your company? If I read Shakespeare, will that allow me to work effectively in a team to brainstorm ideas to improve productivity of my company's manufacturing line? By the way, two of the members live in China and one lives in Europe and we collabo… Continue

Mother's Day

Thanks to Classroom 2.0, I added Voicethread to my list of options in creating Mother's Day greetings this year. Students drew an image in Kid Pix, saved it as a jpeg and put it into the shared folder. Then we put the images into voicethread and each child recorded a mother's day greeting. Mothers were given the URL to the voicethread and invited to comment on their child's work. To include a sample of the voicethr… Continue

The Future (of Education) Is Now (For Some)

Intrepid Flame says things I think:
How can we slowly encourage people (teachers) to understand that the future is here with a sense of urgency, but at the same time not allow them to become defensive?
This is almost exactly the point of this blog and Another Brick In The Wall.
